I will be reviewing Mario Badescu Drying Lotion in this post. So let’s get into it.

The Drying Lotion is a fast acting, effective acne spot treatment. Formulated with salicylic acid, calamine and other quick-drying ingredients, this product will shrink ugly whiteheads.

Alright, I’ve been using this product for a month and a half now and I think I’ve developed a solid opinion on it.
This product will dry zits faster than others and more effectively, as it won’t dry the skin around it. I’ve tried TONNNNSS of spot treatments and this is the one that, in my opinion, works the best.
Now, this product won’t get rid of cystic, under the skin, pimples. It will dry them once they come out to the surface of the skin, but, at least on my skin, it didn’t work on the worst spots.
I would still recommend it, like I say it does a very good and fast job on regular pimples, and for those who only get a couple of zits a month due to periods or whatnot, this is a good product.
For people who suffer from cystic, hormonal acne (like myself), this is a handy add on product to combine with other acne treatments.

Personally, I also really like the smell(mostly camphor).

It’s well-priced (I think it’s around 17 dollars for 1 oz. and Amazon and Mario Badescu always have sales, so you can get it as low as 15-13 dollars) and a little bit of this stuff goes a long way.

What does the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion do?

It’s supposed to be a pimple shrink-er and a fast, overnight one at that. The Mario Badescu claims that these two layered little bottle is supposed to:

1. Fast
2. Effective
3. “will Shrink ugly whiteheads virtually overnight while you sleep”

INGREDIENTS: Isopropyl Alcohol,Deionized Water (Aqua), Calamine, Camphor, Colloidal Sulfur, Salicylic Acid,Glycerine, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Talc

Unlike most topical treatments, the way you would apply this is to dip a cotton bud into the fluid. Make sure the two layers are seperate, you’re supposed to dip through the alcohol into the calamine solution and then bring it slowly up. Do not mix the two layers, again, they need to be separated.

Just dab the lotion onto the pimples.

The sensation is tingly. You will feel something and according to your pain tolerance, it might be bearable or unbearable. For me, with the many threading sessions I attend, this is nothing. I prefer my acne treatments to “hurt” anyway.

So, did it work?

Yes, it obviously did work. I wouldn’t say it was very fast but it was effective.

Overall:

1. Fast?

Relatively. Give it time to work. It dries out the pimple in couple of days and then in two days the thing just falls off. You wont even realize 😀 .

It will leave an acne scar as all pimples sort of do. It’s their little foot print.

2. Effective?

Yes. It does work!!

3. “will Shrink ugly whiteheads virtually overnight while you sleep”?

It shrunk the pimple. Yes but not overnight.

So overall, this is a good acne medication ! It did shrink my zits but I wouldn’t say it’s particularly fast. For spot treatments for one or two zits, this is the way to go.
