Hello beauty fam,
I remember in my teens hearing about dry shampoo, i thought it sounded gross and couldn’t understand who didn’t have the time to shower so badly that they needed that kind of alternative. Well guess what you little pretentious younger judgy self, not everyone in the world has two free hours every night for their beauty routine!
So what exactly is dry shampoo? For those not familiar, it is a powdery like spray that you can spray in your hair to absorb grease and oils. I have found that I can double the amount of time in between shampoos if necessary, just by spritzing in a little dry shampoo in the morning before heading out the door.
There are many instances where dry shampoo can come in handy – students who are hitting the books hard for a big exam, someone who travels A LOT and wants to stay feeling fresh for a long trip

Batiste is by far the best dry shampoo brand I’ve tried. I usually wash my hair every two-three days. By day two, my roots are already getting a little greasy so that’s when I use this stuff in the morning before styling. If I ever have day three hair, it isn’t absorbent enough to handle that much grease so day three is usually top knot day. I was so glad when I discovered batiste made dry shampoo for darker hair since the white stuff makes my roots look light ashy grey; this stuff matches my hair color perfectly.
I have tried so many different dry shampoos and all but one other have left my hair with white flakes everywhere. Herbal Essence comes in second to this but still leaves me with some white if I apply more than a very small amount. With this I am able to apply it the day I need it, I don’t have to think about it the night before and hope most comes out. It still has a bit of an ashy color when it is sprayed but it brushes into the hair so well and the small amount of added color makes such an amazing difference!
Pros
- Functional packaging; however, not ideal for travel. The normal bottle is too big to carry.
- Strong fresh fragrance.
- Absorbs oil instantly, leaving the hair fresh.
- Gives volume to the hair.
- Functional nozzle.
- Leaves no residue on hair.
- Does not weigh hair down.
- No need to wash off – well, that the whole logic, right?
Cons
- The effect lasts for just that day.

I have found the best way to use batiste is to put it into your hair before it gets oily. So if you find you hair gets oily on the second day apply batiste to your hair on the evening before and let it absorb the oils. You might find this helps a little more the only problem is remembering to do it before you hair gets oily.
