I cannot believe that I am laid here in bed writing my second blog post of 2018. Last year just seemed to fly by so unbelievably quickly; it feels incredibly strange to already be referring to 2017 as last year already. But, I thought to start off my year; I would do a roundup of all my favorite makeup products of 2017. I bought far too much makeup last year and my plan this year is to try reigning my spending in a little, but before that particular New Year’s resolution starts, I thought I would share some of my favorite products from the past 12 months. I know that hell of a lot of these products came out well before 2017; they were just my most used makeup products through the year.
As normal, this post will be quite heavy on the base products. If you have followed my blog for some time, you will probably know that I spend most of my money on face makeup products. In a morning when I am getting ready I can spend half an hour on my base makeup and then only 10 minutes on everything else. To me, if my base looks good, then I’m not bothered what anything else looks like. I tend to spend my money mainly on foundations and then I go for concealers, powders and bronzers. Anyway, without any further rambling on, here are my favorite makeup products of 2017.
BareMinerals BarePro Foundation
I am sure that it will be no surprise to you guys that I am mentioning the BareMinerals BarePro Foundation in this post. Through 2017, I am pretty sure that I mentioned this post in near enough every single favorite post that I uploaded. I wasn’t sure about this foundation to start with. I thought with my oily complexion that it just wouldn’t work out. Then I saw it mentioned all over blogs and YouTube and I just decided to bite the bullet and give it a go. So, I decided to treat myself. After a struggle trying to find the right shade for me, I settled on the shade Cardamom.
I don’t find that it oxides through the day and it just looks pretty from first thing in the morning to the last thing at night. The way it blends into the skin is just so seamless and it looks so natural. If you haven’t tried this before, I would highly recommend giving it a go, I can guarantee that you will adore it.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
I know for a fact that this will be no surprise for most people. I have been using this mascara for years now and I am in love with it. I bought this firstly because of the blogging world. I thought because of the color of this packaging it would be a perfect prop in my flat lays, I was right on that thing, but I have fallen in love with the product. I use this near enough daily, for the price this is the best mascara I have tried. It performs like you would expect a high-end mascara to, it separates the lashes, makes them really long and thick, it is just a great all round drugstore mascara

Mac Ruby Woo
Has there even been a more popular lipstick than Ruby Woo? I don’t know. Because the second someone says Ruby Woo, you know they’re talking about this MAC lipstick. The second thing that comes to mind when you hear the name is how dry this retro matte shade is. There are dry matte lipsticks.. Then there’s Ruby Woo. If you’re not used to matte lips, this one will be hard to get used to. But, the cool toned red shade is extremely beautiful and looks gorgeous on every single skin tone. No wonder it’s so popular and i adore it.

Vanity Planet Kabuki brush
When it comes to makeup brushes I am stuck in a rut. It is very rare that I spend money on makeup brushes. But Vanity Planet was so kind to send over all their brushes for review.
From when I got it I used it every day for months on end and I have to say I really love it. It was just so different from anything I had used before. Previously I had just been using my Real techniques traditional style foundation brush. This brush meant I could use it for powder foundations because I could really buff it in and spread it around better.

I know that technically you are meant to wash your brushes after every application for hygiene reasons but who seriously has time for that. I do my make up in a morning before work and then I have to bolt to get in my car so I am on time, so there is never enough time to wash them. But when I do wash them which I tend to do on a Sunday it always turns up like brand new again!
If you have made it this far through the post then I am incredibly proud of you. I know that it has been a long one, but I really want to round it up and give you a full overview of the things that I’ve loved.
Make sure to leave me a comment down below and let me know what some of your favorite products of 2017 were!
Thank you for the read you guys!! 🙂 😀
